Like father, like daughter.

Hailie Jade McClintock opened up to PEOPLE exclusively about the challenges of raising her firstborn baby, son Elliot Marshall McClintock, in the spotlight, similar to how her own father, Eminem, raised her when she was young.

“Having been in the spotlight for so long, I’ve learned the importance of balancing what I share publicly with what I keep private,” McClintock, 29, who was born to the legendary rapper and his ex-wife, Kim Scott, in December 1995, told PEOPLE exclusively on Monday, June 23.

“Over time, I’ve come to understand the struggle my father faced — wanting to protect our privacy while also feeling proud and wanting to celebrate his kids,” admitted McClintock, who recently launched her own YouTube digital series, Just a Little Reno, which she filmed while pregnant with Elliot.

Since giving birth to her son, whom she welcomed with her husband Evan McClintock in March 2025, the social media star admits she relates to her father as a parent, now experiencing it for herself.

“I feel the same way now,” she told PEOPLE of her mixed feelings about raising a baby amid fame. “I want to share the proud, joyful moments that mean a lot to me, especially as a parent, but I’m also intentional about keeping certain parts of our lives just for us.”

While the multi-hyphenated content creator is still trying to find a rhythm just three months into motherhood, she has a pretty solid idea in mind already.

“It’s all about finding that balance between openness and privacy,” she shared, adding, “And that balance has become even more important to me as I navigate parenthood.”

Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, is the father of three kids with his ex-wife, Kim. Together, they share daughters McClintock, Alaina Scott and Stevie Laine Scott.

“Bein’ a dad is definitely living a double life,” the Grammy winner told Rolling Stone in 2004. “Even before Hailie was born, I was a firm believer in freedom of speech … But once I hit them gates where I live, that’s when I’m Dad.”

He continued, “Takin’ the kids to school, pickin’ ’em up, teachin’ ’em rules. I’m not sayin’ I’m the perfect father, but the most important thing is to be there for my kids and raise them the right way.”

The rapper has mentioned his daughter in several of his songs, including “Hailie’s Song” and “Temporary.” The latter was written to comfort her in the event of Eminem’s death.

In 2001, Eminem said McClintock was “a real wakeup call” for him.

“She made me get my a– in gear — to make something of my life and try 10 quadrillion times harder than I had before,” he told British publication Q. “Everything that I am doing right now is for Hailie … the money — it’s for her college.”

In exchange, McClintock has been known to support her dad and his career, even celebrating with the hip-hop artist when he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in November 2022.

Most recently, Eminem gave McClintock a shoutout when he joined country star Jelly Roll on stage during his concert in the midst of performing a cover of his 2002 hit “Lose Yourself” at Ford Field in Detroit in May 2025.

In a clip shared on YouTube, the rapper can be heard saying, “Long time, no see, Detroit. One more time, make some noise for Jelly Roll, y’all. Hailie and Evan, happy anniversary, I love y’all.

McClintock and her husband, Evan, tied the knot on May 18, 2024, with the concert marking their first wedding anniversary.
